【摘要】:Adense,uniformstandofturfgrassonaplayingsurfaceimprovestheplayingqualityandsafetyofthefieldbyprovidingfirmfootingfortheathletesandbycushioningtheirimpactfromfalls,tacklesorslides.Thesestandardsaretheminimuminputsrequiredtoprovidesuchasurface.Variouspublishedguideshavebeenusedinthedevelopmentofthisstandard(1-8).3Fieldconditionsmaydirectlyinfluencethefrequencyandtypeofathleticinjuriesoccurringasaresultofusingthefields.Whilethesestandardsdonotguaranteethatsuchinjurieswillbeprevented,awellmaintainedturfonanaturalplayingsurfaceshouldminimizefield-relatedinjuries.1.1Thisguidecoverstheminimumrequirementsformaintainingwarm-seasonturfgrassesusedfornaturalsurfaceathleticfields.Practicescoveredincludemowing,fertilization,irrigation,corecultivation,winteroverseeding,pestmanagement,andrequirementsformanagementofdormantturfwinteroverseededwithcool-seasonturf(seealsoGuideF2060).1.2Thedecisionsinvolvedinmaintainingaqualitynaturalplayingsurfaceshouldconsidersoiltypes,localclimateandotherfactors.Therefore,itisrecommendedthatyoucontactyourlocalcooperativeextensionserviceformorespecificinformationonsoils,andgrassspeciesandcultivarsadaptedtoyourarea.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
