【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingthebasicconstituentsinpetroleumproductsinthefieldorlaboratoryusingapre-packagedtestkit.Thetestusesamicro-titrationresultinginavisualendpointfacilitatedbyacolorindicator.Thistestmethodcoversbasenumbersfrom0to20.Itcanbeextendedtohigherrangesbydilutingthesampleorbyusingasmallersamplesize;however,theprecisiondatawereobtainedforbasenumbersupto20.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoindicaterelativechangesthatoccurinanoilduringuseunderoxidizingconditions.Althoughthetestisperformedundercloselyspecifiedconditionswithstandardizedreagents,thetestmethoddoesnotmeasureanabsolutebasicpropertythatcanbeusedtopredictperformanceofanoilunderserviceconditions.Nogeneralrelationshipbetweenbearingcorrosionandbasenumberisknown.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
